John and Lydia took dance class all year, and the year culminated in a
dance recital (see the last one, in 2004). This is quite a
serious affair, with three performances (Friday evening, Saturday
evening, and Sunday afternoon), and two sessions - one for the younger
children (which covered both John and Lydia) and one for the older
children. This year's show was called Kazolder, a combination of
zolder (attic) and kader (frame) - all the dances for the younger set
related (in some way) to things you would find in an attic, while for
the older set the dances related to a series of pictures (in frames).
Below is Lydia, dressed up as a grandfather. Before her dance, a
picture of grandfather was found in the attic, then came her dance.
John, for his performance, was one of a band of thieves who came into
the attic to rob the place,
