The Roman catacombs

The catacombs were where the early Christians buried their dead (escape persecution etc)
It lies outside the city itself, along the Appian way, so we bravely navigated Roman public transportation and found that the catacombs and tour were well worth the trip.
Poor Tabitha - she was feeling really sick that day, but she persevered and went sightseeing with us the whole day...
