The Church of the Miraculous Medal

We visited the Church of the Miraculous Medal, the site of an apparition of Mary, right in the middle of Paris!  (Earlier we saw Beauraing, the site of another Marion apparition)  Below is the inside of the church, during one of the many services held there.

The story of the medal is told (in French) on a series of stones outside the church - or you can read it in English at: http://www.amm.org/medal.htm
Below, the beginning - the left hand panel is roughly translated as "Sister Catherine, a novice of the daughters of charity, is led (by her guardian angel) to the chapel where the Virgin Mary awaits her", while the right hand panel says "During two long hours, Sister Catherine enjoys the company of the Virgin, her clasped hands on the knees of the Mother of God"

The story continues
"This ball represents the world, France in particular, and each individual (the Virgin says to Sister Catherine)"  [ on the left ]
"The rays are the symbol of grace that the Virgin will grant to those who ask" [on the right ]
"Go and strike a medal with this design, those who wear it will receive many blessings." [ on the bottom ]

On the left "The medal that converts - in 1842 the Virgin of the medal instantly converted Alponse Ratisbonne in a Roman church where she appeared to him"
On the right "The medal which heals - The instantaneous healing of little Jean Ribet, seven years old, in Toulouse, 1932, recognized by the church"

On the left "The medal which protects: Miraculous preservation (from fire) of the house of the Daughters of Charity in 1915"
On the right "The association of the children of the immaculate Virgin, founded on request of the Holy Virgin, in the courts where she appeared, and expanded in the other 5 continents, has its center as the church in the Rue du Bac (Paris)"
