Kao la Tumaini, Korogocho slum

The Kao la Tumaini school was established by Pastor Moses, a man with a vision for the people of this area.  While currently the school is one room in a temporary corrugated iron building, there are already plans for a two story replacement.  In the meantime, the school pushes forward, with a complete primary (grades 1-8) and secondary (grades 9-12) school curriculum.  (Some of the older girls from this area who have just finished primary education are actually supported, via the Giraffe project, at the Enna school for girls, which offers a better education that can be provided today in Korogocho.)

We visited on a Sunday and were treated to their church service - a wonderfully open experience where we were welcomed with open arms.  Below pictures of Richard and myself speaking at their church service - the man next to us is Pastor Moses, who translated everything we said into Swahili!

Like at the other schools, we established a computer center
for the students at the school.  Due to security concerns, they
rented a room in a nearby, secured building for the computers.
