Dover, England

After failing to find somewhere to stay in Canterbury, we pushed on to Dover, since we had a chunnel reservation and knew that we'd need to come through this area anyway.  While there, we stayed at a cute little B&B, wandered around the town some, then went to Dover castle for a tour of both the castle and of the secret tunnels, used during WW II for communications and other military purposes.

The tunnels, cut into the white cliffs, are now a tourist attraction

While we were there, there was also a display of Roman military techniques, including this one of a Roman soldier in his chariot.
Other demonstrations included uses of Roman crossbows, Roman siege engines, etc.
