After the Felucca ride and the stop at Kom Ombo, we took a van to Luxor (formerly known as Thebes), where we spent several days.
This was the former home of the Egyptian pharoahs and the history was visible everywhere - in the temples (Luxor and Karnak temples), nearby in the
Valley of the Kings, but also juxtaposed with the present realities of a bustling city.
