Camping in Apeldoorn, May 5-8 2005
with the Riordans, Woodmans, and Gatehouses!

Continuing our yearly tradition of camping on Hemelvaart weekend (ascension day), we once again went to Apeldoorn in the Netherlands and to X:Apenheul (see prior years).  As normal, the kids had a great time!
Sunday afternoon we visited the X:Koningin Julianatoren, an amusement park targeted for kids under 8 or so - as John and Lydia are 3 and 6, this was absolutely perfect for them.  See photos here.

The campsite, with the whole crew for dinner.  Our new tent is on the left (first time that we'd used it!)
Breakfast on our final day - funny, but everyone looks rather WET...

The prior day we had visited the Kootwijkerzand, an inland sand dune in the Netherlands (the biggest in the Netherlands) - Karen and I had been there the two prior years, but this was the first time that we got the whole crew to go there together.

On the right, from left to right, John, Liddy, Rachel, and Anna, fooling around in the sand.
