Welcome to Belgium! When we moved in December 2001, little
did we know what we were getting ourselves into... Well, we've
been here almost four years now, and it is hard to believe that all
that time has come and gone. Here we've tried to capture a few
images of our time here.
You'll note a few constants which seem to have arisen in our
lives in Belgium
Going into Brussels (or Antwerp) and buying waffles for the
children
Watching the kids play at a park playground while we drink one of
the very nice Belgian beers or coffees at the attached bar
Bicycling through Belgium, along the canals, enjoying a very
flat, bicycle friendly country
Enjoying the downtown atmosphere of Mechelen, Brussels, Antwerp,
and their open-air markets
Trying our very very best to practice our Dutch, saying two
words, only to have 99% of the people say "Oh, you're English speaking,
that's ok, I speak English."
Doing our very best to see and explore Europe with two small
children in tow.
Traveling tip - it's cheaper to take kids as carryon than to
buy them a ticket...
