March 30 - April  2nd, Italy!
Off to Italy to see our friends Silvia and Stefano, and their daughter, Anna.  They live in Milan and we spent two nights there, then we all went to the Cinque Terre region of Italy (along the coast, South of Genoa) - a beautiful area with lovely beaches, picturesque towns, and pretty hikes.

We started in Levanto, pictured below, and then walked to the neighboring town of Monterosso (normally a 2-4 hour walk, but took us all day with the kids!)

We spent some time just hanging out on the beach (it was wonderfully warm and sunny there, quite a change from the cloud and cool of Belgium!)  Anna and John were funny together - they couldn't talk to each other at all, but they had a great time together, and now John tells us that he wants to marry her!  Who knows - perhaps this picture below is a sign of a true future romance...
