The boat from Gent

We took the X:DFDS Tor Line boat out of Gent - it was quite a surprise when we saw how large a boat was needed to transport out little car!
We arrived at the docks in Gent around 5pm on Thursday - the crew showed us our cabin and the dining facilities - we took ourselves on a tour of the boat and then went to bed while the boat was being loaded.  About 3am the boat left (we woke up about 4:30am and got to watch for a few minutes as the boat traveled North along the canal from Gent to the Schelde).

The boat we took - 20 crew, 7 passengers, and probably 500 new cars, and perhaps 100 tractor-trailers.  The little red box shows our car...

The dining facilities on the ship - not gourmet, but quite pleasant and plentiful.
