Flam-Myrdal and the railway

The railway between X:Flam and Myrdal is one of the great technical achievements in railroad building.
Over the 20k distance between the two towns, the railroad climbs 800 meters and goes through 20 tunnels.
We took the train up to Myrdal, and then walked back to Flam (well, we walked about halfway with the kids and then
picked up the train again, whereas Karen's parents walked the whole way back to Flam).

The road to the left is at the upper portion of the path, near Myrdal,
where all the switchbacks are.

There are so many tunnels in that area, even the hiking
paths have their own tunnels!!!

Some friendly goats we met along the way - Lydia especially
was thrilled!
