Switzerland, 2002, our first few days

Our first day - hiking up 1000 steep steps, most in good condition (but not all!!) up to a little hut to see a glacier. Mark did not know that this is where we were going or he may have vetoed the idea!! The kids however, did fine, John and Anna walked the ENTIRE way up and down!

Our destination - you can see the steps against the rock face (just below where it says steps)

Our second day - hiking up to a hut, nestled in the mountains, with wonderful views of the valley around us. Of course, at a little hut in the middle of nowhere, what do we do but sit down for a cup of coffee and a beer! Europe is wonderful!

Walking along the trail across a rockface
The view of the Grindelwald Valley along the way
Our trail - nice and safe Swiss trail!
